The Junior Jazz Workshop is comprised of five, one-week sessions for students grades 6th through 8th who have some prior experience on their instrument. The program is designed to support a wide range of musical abilities through various classes and activities that deepen the understanding jazz performance. Students learn through ensemble, instrumental studio classes, and elective classes in ear training, history, theory, and performance practices. The faculty, comprised of renowned jazz musicians and dedicated educators, guide the students through a robust and eclectic curriculum that will inspire and prepare the students for future growth in jazz. Class topics, ensemble repertoire, and instructors rotate each session. Students can enroll in as many sessions as they wish, multi-week enrollment discounts available. All events take place at Fordham College at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.
